The tour continues by truck as your group and guide embark on a journey through our rainforest valley. We receive a fair amount of rain – approximately 8 feet a year! – so it is a green, lush landscape.
From the dock at the north end of Pitt Lake we will drive through the old town site of Alvin, now an active logging camp with a short stop at Corbold Creek which is a major Sockeye salmon rearing stream that feed the Pitt River. From here we continue the trip north on the road where you will have to keep your eyes peeled for black bears, Roosevelt Elk, black tail deer, eagles and all sorts of ducks and wildlife.
The next stop is the Hot Springs Bridge were you get a great view of the Pitt River and the second canyon about 21 kilometers above the lake head.
The tour moves on driving further north to the end of the road about 25 kilometers from the lake head. Here we will take a short walk to the Blue Creek bridge to look over creek where it runs into the Pitt River. From here you can see the southern most boundary of Garibaldi Provincial Park.
